SFL Invest in New Flatbed Fiber Laser

20 September 2022

SFL’s continuous improvement project takes another leap forward with a new Flatbed Fiber Laser investment.

The latest SFL investment is a Morgan Rushworth XR fibre laser-equipped tooling complete with a 3m x 1.5m cutting area, automatic shuttle table, and dual pallet changer enabling parts to be safely loaded and unloaded whilst the machine is cutting. The design includes a fibre laser source inside the machine’s body, ensuring a compact footprint. Class-leading components ensure superior cut quality and maximum reliability.

The 3.0 kW IPG YLR Fibre laser technology completely removes the need for helium gas whilst minimising other gases used by existing co2 lasers.

110m/min class leading positioning speed, 2 G axis acceleration, and up to 10mm stainless-steel thickness gives SFL the speed and flexibility to meet customer demands now and in the future.
