SFL Flues & Chimneys are proud to announce their new membership with the UK GEN-SET & CHP Association (UKGSA), further demonstrating their commitment to safety, quality, and innovation within the flue and chimney industry. Originally developed for electrical generators, the EUROPA® flue system was one of the first solutions used for this application and continues to be a trusted product in the industry. Over time, the EUROPA® system has been further refined, and the enhanced EUROPA PLUS® version was introduced, making it ideal for Combined Heat and Power (CHP) applications. Both systems are designed to effectively manage flue gases from energy systems, delivering maximum efficiency in both generator and CHP installations.

Key Features of EUROPA® and EUROPA PLUS® Flue Systems Include:

• Both EUROPA® and EUROPA PLUS® can be configured with noise attenuation features, helping to reduce the sound produced by CHP systems and ensuring quieter operation.
• Suitable for operation under both fully condensing and dry exhaust conditions
• Europa Plus is also UL/ULc Listed for high-temperature exhaust applications operating under positive pressure conditions of up to 14KPa.

EN1366-13 Fire Resistance Certification: EUROPA® was originally tested and developed for electrical generators, and while EN1366-13 (fire resistance standard) is a valuable certification, it is not a mandatory requirement for all applications. However, EUROPA PLUS® has been certified to EN1366-13, which offers an added benefit for those looking for extra fire resistance assurance. This makes EUROPA PLUS® particularly suited for more stringent safety requirements, especially when fire resistance is a priority.

In contrast, EN1856-1 is the mandatory certification for system chimneys, regardless of the application. SFL’s systems meet this critical standard, ensuring that they are fully compliant with industry regulations. The EN1366-13 certification, therefore, serves as a unique selling point for EUROPA PLUS®, distinguishing it from other systems that may only meet the EN1856-1 standard.
