Powering Progress: Precision Engineered Flue Systems from SFL for Every Application

From Data Centres and Bakery Ovens to Coffee Roasters – Why SFL Is the First Choice for Engineered Exhaust Solutions

In today’s world of digital connectivity and round-the-clock production, downtime isn’t just an inconvenience — it’s a critical failure. From hyperscale data centres to artisan coffee roasters and industrial bakeries, SFL Flues & Chimneys manufactures products that deliver power, performance, and compliance.

Backed by British manufacturing expertise and the latest fire safety certifications, SFL is uniquely equipped to meet the diverse needs of demanding sectors — whether that’s managing 30+ generator exhausts on a data centre or safely venting 800°C gases from a single roasting machine.

Data Centres: Total Reliability with SFL Europa®

Data Centres

Data centres are the backbone of global infrastructure — and backup power systems are their lifeline. These critical facilities can host dozens of standby generators, each requiring a highly specialised exhaust system capable of handling high temperatures, high backpressure, and long vertical runs.

SFL’s Europa® range is globally recognised as the No.1 generator exhaust solution, trusted by major hyperscale and co-location facilities. Manufactured in Barnstaple, Devon and tested to the most stringent standards — including 4-hour fire resistance to BS 476 Part 24 and BS EN 1366-13 — Europa® combines durability, fire safety and performance in a single engineered solution.

Available in diameters from 100mm to 1200mm and with insulation options from 25mm to 100mm, Europa® meets the bespoke challenges of each installation — whether that means integrating selective catalytic reduction (SCR) for NOx compliance or adding resonance silencers to minimise acoustic impact.

“At SFL, we work closely with our partners to deliver engineered exhaust systems that match the exacting demands of their projects,” says Andy Dimond, National Sales & Marketing Manager. “Our commitment to technical support, certified performance, and British-made quality has made us the first call for mission-critical installations across the UK and beyond.”

Coffee Roasters: Safe Venting for the Hottest Applications

Coffee Roasters

Coffee roasting is both an art and a science — and its hot work. Roasting machines can generate flue gas temperatures in excess of 800°C. In these environments, SFL’s Europa® system again stands out. Its 1mm thick 316L stainless steel inner liner handles continuous use at 760°C and intermittent peaks of 1000°C, ensuring uncompromised safety and durability.

Multiple insulation options maintain low-touch surface temperatures, ideal for café or retail settings where public safety is critical. SFL also supports full system design, including terminal equipment, filtration, fan assistance, and noise mitigation — essential for urban installations with stringent emissions and odour controls.

Bakery Ovens: Reliable Exhausts for 24/7 Food Production

Bakery Ovens

From artisan bakeries to industrial bread lines, ovens run non-stop and demand robust flue systems. Gas-fired ovens typically generate exhaust temperatures between 150°C and 400°C — a perfect match for SFL’s NOVA® twin wall flue system, rated T600 and trusted across the UK food sector.

With a wide array of components, NOVA® adapts to every setup — from multi-oven lines to integration with heat recovery systems. Its design flexibility enables efficient installation regardless of site complexity, while optional bypass systems support uninterrupted production during maintenance.
