Enervex choose SFL’s high-pressure “EUROPA®” brand twin wall chimney system for large commercial project.

SFL were delighted to work alongside our partner, Enervex, on this significant project for a well-known US based Science and Technology company. When Enervex chose SFL to supply the EUROPA® brand, we were more than pleased to respond to the challenge!

The project required diameters ranging from DN450 to DN950, this included two bespoke and custom made DN900 135° tees and over seventy-eight individual chimney components. The whole project was built on site at our manufacturing plant in Barnstable, Devon.

As well as an impressive outer diameter the complete system used over one kilometre of material!

The flue system was constructed using a 1mm thick 316L stainless steel inner and a 304 stainless steel outer casing. Each component was insulated with 50mm of Insulfrax high performance AES insulation.

The two 135° tees featured above have an internal diameter of 950mm, an external diameter of 1050mm and a height of 1900mm. These were packed up and shipped out to the US along with an impressive line of other fittings. These included thirty-eight metres of DN950 as well as twenty metres of DN700mm and twenty 45° elbows. Overall, the complete system used a staggering 1 km of raw materials.

EUROPA® Brands
EUROPA PLUS® is manufactured in diameters ranging from DN100 through to DN600. Constructed using a 0.6mm thick 316L stainless steel inner liner and a 304 Stainless steel outer casing. The flanged joints together with a composite graphite gasket and closure band form a precision engineered joint offering a positive pressure capability of 5000Pa up to temperatures of 600°C.

EUROPA® extends the diameter range of EUROPA PLUS from DN650 to DN1200. Constructed using a 1mm thick 316L stainless steel liner (1.2mm above DN1000) and a 304 stainless steel outer cases. The flanged joints are assembled using a Vee Band and either a high or low temperature sealant depending on application.
As standard, both brands are insulated with a 25mm thick Insulfrax high performance AES blanket with a density of 128Kg/m3, with optional thickness of 50mm and 100mm, should the application demand.
Both brands are CE marked to BS EN 1856-1 and UL/ULc Listed to the required North American and Canadian chimney standards. Europa is fire rated to BS 476 Part 24 and Europa Plus is fire rated to BS EN 1366-13, see technical information for further details.
