A 50 year association! SFL Factory Visit from J.R.F. Chimney Specialists.

SFL were pleased to welcome David and Louis Francey to their Barnstaple factory last week.  The visit to the factory was a sentimental occasion for David Francey managing director of JRF and his son Louis Francey as David’s father Roy started JRF’s family connection with Selkirk/SFL chimneys in the very same month of May 1969. His employment with Selkirk Metalbestos Limited came at a time when metal sectional chimneys were seeing a prolific rise in the market.

The strong connections he made in the chimney market allowed Roy to start JRF Chimney Specialists Limited in 1983 and the visit this year completed a 50 year association.

JRF Chimney Specialists and Heating Distributors Limited are located in Glenrothes, Fife. The company provides design, supply and installation of SFL chimney products to domestic and commercial clients throughout Scotland and the rest of the UK. Louis is the third generation of the family business.

David provided some letters, memos and plane tickets from 1969 which made for some interesting reading.

SFL often supply bespoke components for the commercial market and during the visit JRF were able to meet the staff who work their fabrication magic in the specials department. They were able to thank the team for the quality product being produced.

A trip to Devon is not complete without a visit to a fine pub to enjoy the local fayre and ales!
